The joint recording of ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’ by Gábor Boldoczki and the PKF – Prague Philharmonia has been awarded a nomination for the ICMA 2018 prize in the category ‘Concertos‘. Among the twenty-five nominated recordings for this category include projects by the Berlin and London Philharmonics, the BBC Symphony Orchestra and the Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen.
The International Classical Music Awards (ICMA) is open annually to all audio and audio-visual recordings produced in the given period for commercial purposes and with international distribution. The jury members are the editors-in-chief of prestigious music magazines and representatives from important cultural institutions from Germany, Turkey, Belgium, Hungary, Croatia, Great Britain, Italy, Switzerland, Russia, Luxembourg, Poland, Finland, Austria and Spain (Crescendo, Andante, Musica, Pizzicato, Das Orchester, Scherzo, Musik & Theater, etc.). The awards are divided into a total of sixteen categories. In 2017 this award was won by the guest at the PKF – Prague Philharmonia New Year’s Concert, cellist Daniel Müller-Schott, for his recording of ‘Duo Sessions’ with Julia Fischer.
