With choreography by the great ballet master, Marius Petipa, Tchaikovsky’s wonderful ballet, The Sleeping Beauty premiered in 1890 at the Mariinsky Theatre in St. Petersburg. It is one of the best-loved ballets in the classical repertoire and has been freshly interpreted by the State Ballet of Georgia with exciting choreography by Nina Ananiashvili and Alexei Fadeechev. The tale of the beautiful princess who pricked a finger on her sixteenth birthday and slept under a spell for a hundred years to be awakened by a princely kiss bestowed with true love, has long captured the imagination. With evocative sets and costumes by Anatoly Nezhny, this beloved fairytale magically comes alive at ROHM in a wonderful new production. The PKF – Prague Philharmonia will perform under the baton of Alevtina Ioffe.
