Sarah Traubel — Arias for Josepha | 2020

Sarah Traubel — Arias for Josepha | 2020
With her debut album »Arias for Josepha« the young German soprano Sarah Traubel pays musical tribute to the 18th century coloratura world star Josepha Hofer (1758-1819). On her first CD, Sarah Traubel compiled and recorded 14 arias, most of which have been written for and sung by the legendary artist, including numerous world premiere recordings by composers, some of whom are partly-forgotten today, such as Jacob Haibel, Franz Xaver Süßmayr oder Peter von Winter.
With »Arias for Josepha«, Sarah Traubel, grandniece of Helen Traubel and Günter Wand, now demonstrates her skills as a coloratura soprano on CD. She is accompanied by the PKF - Prague Philharmonia under the direction of Jochen Rieder and mezzo-soprano Deniz Uzun, with whom she performs the Mozart duet »Ah perdona al primo affetto« from his opera »La Clemenza di Tito«.
Released by Sony Classical in March 2020 on CD and digital platforms like Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon Music Unlimited and Google Play Music.

The Czech musicians play this music, and the earlier My Home and Hussite, with native zeal: glorious woodwinds evoke Dvorak's al fresco scene-painting.
