The PKF Foundation was established in 1994 with the aim to provide all-round support to the orchestra (former PKF – Prague Philharmonia). It was set up by the conductor Jiří Bělohlávek, the composer Petr Eben and the pianist Ivan Moravec. The Foundation grants finance for, among other things, purchase of musical instruments, extension and improvement of the orchestral inventory and other assets necessary for the orchestra’s functioning. The Foundation does not strive to make a profit but to acquire money for carrying out its mission. It obtains contributions from the Foundation Investment Fund and donations. The PKF Foundation is administered by the Board of Directors and the Supervisory Board. Under certain terms, its patrons and benefactors can reduce their tax base by writing off the donated amount.
