In Memoriam: Karel Schwarzenberg, a Generous Patron and Friend of Music

With great sadness, we have received the news of the passing of Karel Schwarzenberg.

Recently, he supported our orchestra by donating a French horn. With his characteristic generosity, he expressed a single wish: for the musical instrument to be named after him. We gladly complied, and since then, our orchestra has had a French horn named "Karel".

On June 25th, our horn players traveled to Nižbor to personally thank him for this generous donation. They played short fanfares for Karel Schwarzenberg, followed by an enjoyable conversation while drinking beer.

Just last week, Karel Schwarzenberg donated for the purchase of a new flute. It is with deep sorrow that we will not be able to personally thank him for this gift.

We are grateful for everything he has done for our orchestra and will never forget his service to our country.

Honor to his memory!
