Midori is a visionary artist, activist and educator who transcends traditional boundaries, making her one of the most important violinists of our time. Last season, she celebrated her 40th anniversary on stage, marking a remarkable career that began in 1982 at the age of 11 with a concert with the New York Philharmonic and Zubin Mehta. She is a recipient of the United Nations Messenger of Peace award for her artistic and humanitarian work.

Eugene Tzigane was born in Japan, grew up on both sides of the Pacific and now lives in Europe. From an early age he was surrounded by music from a variety of backgrounds, from jazz (his first love) to classical and film orchestral music to Eastern European folk and dance music. From 2010-2014 he was the chief conductor of the Northwest German Philharmonic (Herford), at the time the youngest chief conductor in Germany. Since the beginning of 2023 he has been the chief conductor and artistic director of the Kuopio Symphony Orchestra in Finland.
